Social Media Policy

The LiUNA Midwest Region website and social media platforms have been developed to best serve our members, member families, prospective members, and affiliates. Our goal is to offer information, education, and open communication using diverse platforms. Our web and social presence includes, but is not limited to, our main website located at www.midwestlaborers.org, an interactive blog on this site, and a presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. More platforms may be added as appropriate and while the platforms may change, the policy remains applicable to those changes.

By accessing, viewing, participating or posting on any LiUNA Midwest website or social media site, you agree to the terms of this policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not post any content to any LiUNA Midwest site or platform. Your use of our website and social media sites constitutes acceptance of this policy and your use has the same effect as if signed an agreement.

LiUNA Midwest reserves the right to monitor, prohibit, restrict, block, suspend, terminate, delete or discontinue your access to any LiUNA Midwest website or social media site at any time without notice, and for any reason, at its sole discretion. LiUNA Midwest may remove, delete, block, filter or restrict by any other means any materials posted, placed or found within a LiUNA website or social media platform, and retains the right to do so at their sole discretion. LiUNA Midwest will moderate and review all comments submitted prior to going live on the Your Take Blog on the LiUNA website. LiUNA has the right to approve or deny any comment and may do so at their sole discretion. LiUNA Midwest does not endorse any product, service, views or content displayed on the social media site.

By your use, you expressly acknowledge that you assume all responsibility for all information that you post, send, e-mail, transmit and communicate via LiUNA Midwest social media channels including, but not limited to, their onsite blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

By your use, you agree you assume responsibility for the security, privacy, and confidentiality risks inherent in sending any content over the internet, including trade secrets, images, and copyright or patent protected materials.

By your use, you agree that you shall defend, indemnify and hold harmless LiUNA Midwest and its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, successors, and assignees from and against any liability, and shall promptly reimburse them for any losses, claims, damages, settlements, costs, and liabilities of any nature whatsoever (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) to which any of them may become subject arising out of, based upon, as a result of, or in any way connected with, your posting of any content to a social media site, any third party claims of infringement or any breach of this policy.

By your use, you agree that any claim or dispute related to your posting of any content on a social media site on the internet shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois and you agree to be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the local, state or federal courts located in McLean County, Illinois, at the discretion of the Midwest.

This policy may be updated at any time without notice and each time a user accesses a LiUNA Midwest website or social media site, the new policy will govern usage effective upon posting. To remain in compliance, we suggest that you review the policy at regular intervals.
