Oklahoma City Local 2097, an all-federal employee local of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), stood up to a challenge posed by the agency regarding LiUNA’s representational role within the FAA. The agency requested a Representation Hearing with the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA), and Local 2097 sent representatives to Washington, D.C. to present their case.
Local representatives fought diligently to keep their representational rights as covered under previous certifications, and the FLRA sided with the Local representatives. As a result, the Local not only maintained its current representational role, but was able to add six new employee locations in Georgia, Michigan, Texas, California, Washington D.C., and Alaska.
Congratulations to Local 2097 for standing up for Union rights, and for the rights of aircraft maintenance and support personnel in FAA’s Flight Program Operation.
