In early March, 2024, Laborers from Local 955 in Columbia, Mo., helped rebuild a handicap ramp for the Safe Passage Women’s Shelter. The facility offers services for individuals and families who have experienced domestic and/or sexual abuse. A rebuilt ramp ensures that the shelter doesn’t have to turn anyone away who might require wheelchair access.
Helping on the rebuild were VOC members Tyrone Turner retiree from public employees), Fred Rowe, Richie Fray, Marvis Purdiman, Wayne Rose, Carl Baysinger, and Local 955 Business Manager David Riney.
